Cleaningo — Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 14, 2026
Summary
Cleaningo analyzes content on your device and does not upload photos, videos, contacts or file content to its services. Optional sign-in and cloud progress backup use Google/Firebase services. Crash reporting is off by default and starts only if you enable sharing in Settings. Your own iCloud Photos and contact-account synchronization settings operate separately.
Photos and videos
Gallery analysis (including duplicate, similar, blurry and broken detection) runs entirely on your device. Cleaningo does not upload photos or videos to its services. If iCloud Photos is enabled, Apple synchronization continues according to your own settings. We access your photos only after you grant permission; if you choose iOS's "selected photos" option, Cleaningo sees only what you selected.
Contacts
Duplicate detection, merging and deletion happen entirely on your device using Apple's Contacts framework. Cleaningo does not upload contacts to its services; your contact account's synchronization continues according to your own settings. Contacts permission is requested only when you choose to use the Contacts screen. Limited access restricts analysis and new local backups to selected contacts. Restore requires full access to avoid duplicating contacts outside your selection.
Files
File cleanup only accesses folders you explicitly pick, entirely on-device. Cleaningo does not send file contents or names to its services. A selected folder's synchronization with iCloud Drive or another file provider continues according to your own settings.
Home screen widget
The widget reads an anonymous summary only: reclaimable space (GB), a cleanliness percentage and counters. That summary lives in a shared app container on your device, is never sent over the internet, and contains no photos, contacts or identifiers.
Service providers and local backups
Google/Firebase may process your name, email, user identifier and account-linked cleaning totals/streak/badges/XP/level and the photo decision backup described below for authentication and progress backup. Authentication SDKs may also process technical device, usage and diagnostic information for security and operation. Apple manages App Store purchases. These transfers are not used for advertising or selling data. Contact backups, staged file trash and profile images inside Cleaningo are excluded from iOS device backup; a source folder's own cloud service operates separately.
Account (optional)
If you sign in with email, Google or Apple, authentication is handled by Firebase Authentication (Google). The password you enter for email sign-in is sent to Firebase for verification and is not saved by Cleaningo. When signed in, usage totals — items cleaned, space freed, streak, badges, XP and level — and a size-limited photo decision backup are stored in Firebase. Decision backup includes local and available iCloud photo identifiers, keep/trash/removal decisions, protection dates, compressed-copy identifiers and sizes, and month/deck progress. Sync is limited; Profile shows whether the latest changes are backed up; this backup never includes photos, contacts or file content. Signing in is optional and does not unlock paid features. From Profile → Delete account, confirm your identity to remove cloud progress and any retired invitation records, then the login account. Failed steps show an error and can be retried; backup on this device stays paused until deletion finishes. Local cleaning progress and your library remain. App Store subscriptions must be cancelled separately.
Temporary account-deletion protection
Versions that use account-deletion protection create a security record containing only the account identifier and deletion dates to prevent old sessions from restoring deleted cloud progress. The write barrier lasts 48 hours only for the account whose deletion has started; updating the app or security rules does not apply it to other accounts. Its expiration does not automatically delete the security record. Expired records are reviewed weekly. After confirming that account deletion completed, an authorized administrator manually deletes the security record no later than 30 days after the latest deletion request. It contains no name, email, progress or media content. If account deletion cannot finish, backup on this device stays paused while you retry.
Subscriptions
Premium subscriptions are processed through the App Store. Apple handles payment-card details and does not pass them to Cleaningo. Cleaningo uses product, transaction and subscription status supplied by StoreKit to verify your subscription.
Crash reports
We use Firebase Crashlytics to monitor app stability. Crash reporting is off by default. Only enabling Settings → "Share crash diagnostics" sends crash and technical diagnostic data to Firebase Crashlytics. Reports may be stored locally while sharing is off; enabling sharing can send those saved reports too. Cleaningo does not add your account identifier or photo, contact and file content to crash reports. You can disable sharing at any time in the same setting; Cleaningo preserves that choice for subsequent launches.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, reminders are scheduled entirely on your device. No data is sent to any server to produce them, and you can withdraw permission at any time in iOS Settings.
Children
Cleaningo is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.
Advertising and privacy choices
Where rewarded ads are available, watching is optional and Premium users are ad-free. Google AdMob may process IP address (to estimate approximate location), device/app identifiers, ads viewed, advertising interactions, performance and technical diagnostic data for ad delivery, measurement and security. Cleaningo does not request precise location for advertising. Cleaningo does not send photo, video, contact or file content, filenames or analysis results to the ad service. Ad requests use disabled personalization. Required advertising consent and privacy choices are managed by Google's User Messaging Platform and can be changed through Settings → Advertising when required. Tracking permission is not a condition for rewards or basic usage. Advertising data processing is separate from optional Firebase crash-report sharing.
For data processed by Google, see the Google Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from apps that use its services.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. When something material changes, the "last updated" date above changes with it.

This website and cookie preferences
This website stores your theme preference locally in this browser. When Google Analytics is enabled, your measurement preference is also saved in this browser for up to six months. You can change it using Cookie preferences in the footer.
Google Analytics loads only after you accept optional measurement. If you do not accept, the Analytics code does not run. When enabled, Google Analytics 4 measures page visits, App Store and social link clicks, language choices and feature tab selections. Google processes your IP address and browser/device information during the connection; Analytics cookies can associate visits. Cleaningo does not add your name, email or personal photo, contact or file content to these events. Query strings and fragments are excluded from the page address sent for measurement. Ad personalization and Google Signals are disabled in the site code.
Declining does not prevent you from using the site or downloading the app. Withdrawing consent clears Analytics cookies within this domain and stops measurement. Privacy extensions, browser settings and connection issues can limit measurement. Hosting and security services may process technical access logs to serve the site and prevent abuse.
